Historical note: This premiere was interrupted by a disturbance. The concert was a noon program. Ringing Changes was the last work to be performed and made the concert run over a full hour. A professor of Communications who was scheduled to have a large class the next hour in the same hall grew impatient (the performance simply continuing) and routed Wuorinen and the ensemble by applying a power-saw to a handy microphone.
